I am a licensed master’s-level social worker who received my degree through the University of Michigan (Go Blue!). I have over 16 years of experience working at The Department of Veteran’s Affairs in Ann Arbor as an individual and group psychotherapist where I specialize in the treatment of adults and families affected by trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, personality disorders, and related issues.
I have completed training in cognitive behavior therapy through the Beck Institute, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) through Behavioral Tech, and I have also received specialized training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Problem Solving Skills Therapy (PST), and CBT for chronic pain.
ACT is a great fit for clients who feel stuck in their suffering, who get caught up in their thoughts and feelings, and who often dwell on the past or worry about the future.
DBT is a great fit for clients who feel emotions strongly, who have difficulty regulating these strong emotions, and who want to learn how to better understand their emotions so they can begin to build a life worth living.
I also specialize in helping loved ones who have been impacted by someone who suffers from a personality disorder to help them better understand the inner workings of a tormented mind so they can navigate their relationship more skillfully.
